Surgery!

We just got this news from the directors of the orphanage where CC is staying! Please pray with us for him.

Hi Everyone! Just a quick update and prayer request. Another medical opportunity! This time CC has been accepted as a possible surgical candidate for his huge umbilical hernia. We were notified last night to be at the Coast Guard station in Carrfour this morning. We were there at 6:15AM with our invitation in hand. We spent the entire day waiting in lines (home at 5PM), but never got to see the doctor for evaluation. It was extremely hot, and there was no place for us to sit, but I continued to marvel at what an honor to be considered for this help! We were tagged with wristbands and will be given priority tomorrow AM. If accepted for surgery after evaluation, CC will be having surgery (for free) on board the US Navy Ship "Comfort" - sister ship to the US Mercy Ship. They are here in port thru Apr. 19th. This ship has 12 operating rooms and 1,000 beds! They just completed a tour in Iraq, went back to dock for cleaning and resupply, and are now here to help the Haitian people. What a privilege to see US military serving with such great humanitarian relief! If accepted, CC and I will be given a surgery date, then will board a Coast Guard boat and be taken to the ship. We will stay until they are satisfied that he is ready to return home. They have website info about the ship if anyone is interested under USNS Comfort Ship. Will keep you posted as we learn more...
